Delaware State Police are investigating the fatal crash in Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – A single-vehicle accident that left one person dead on Saturday morning is under investigation.

Delaware State Police say at 7:08 a.m. a 2002 Toyota Celica GTS was traveling south on Parker Road, apparently at a high rate of speed.

Early investigation indicates the vehicle failed to negotiate the sharp curve north of Fire Road, causing it to leave the eastern edge of the highway. When entering an open field, the vehicle overturned several times and the driver was thrown from the road.

The driver was identified as a 22-year-old man from Frankford, Delaware, and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.

Parker Road at Firemans Road was closed for about three hours while authorities investigated the crash scene and cleared the road.

The incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Master Corporal K. Argo by calling 302-703-3264.
