An Alabama man will serve 33 months in prison for threatening the boss who fired him

A federal judge has sentenced a Mobile man to 33 months in prison for sending threatening text messages to his former boss after he was fired from a construction job in Mississippi.

Cloepha Franks sent the messages from Alabama to the victim in Mississippi, the court ruled. The victim and other witnesses testified about the fear Franks’ messages caused.

The federal indictment against Franks showed more than a dozen texts “each containing clear, sometimes chilling threats against the former employer.”

Among those threats were: ‘I know where you’re going every morning, you never know when I’m going to arrest you…’ and ‘You’ll die soon, hopefully your will is ready. I will let my actions speak louder than words,” court documents said.
