Nampa police arrest six men in connection with 2022 homicide

NAMPA (KIVI) – Nampa Police Department investigators have announced the arrest of six individuals on various charges related to the 2022 murder of Joe “Joey” Flores of Caldwell.

Flores was killed when a bystander was caught in the crossfire of a shootout in the parking lot of a restaurant on the 2100 block of North Cassia Street in September 2022.

Police said the six men arrested were gang members who were arguing at the time of the murder. The arrests come after a two-year investigation.

The men now in Nampa Police custody are:

“This investigation has been going on since day one. The work behind the scenes has been non-stop and has clearly paid off with a solid case and multiple arrests,” said Chief Joe Huff. “Some have criticized the Nampa Police Department during this investigation, but the steadfast work of detectives has yielded great results. Ultimately, every unit of the Nampa Police Department played a role in putting these gang members behind bars. I am proud of the dedication and teamwork of my colleagues. We also appreciate the assistance of our law enforcement partners at the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Caldwell Police Department, Idaho Department of Corrections and Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office.”

The investigation into the homicide is ongoing and Nampa police say there is a possibility of additional charges.
