Troopers arrest woman for shoplifting at Newark Area Kohl’s

Delaware State Police arrested the 37-year-old Lamir Harris of Wilmington, Delaware, on shoplifting and drug charges yesterday afternoon at the Newark neighborhood’s Kohl’s.

On May 3, 2024, at approximately 4:33 p.m., a trooper responded to Kohl’s, located at 2800 Pulaski Highway in Newark, for a report of a shoplifting. Before arriving, the officer learned that the black female suspect was last seen wearing the clothing she had just stolen from Kohl’s as she walked east on Pulaski Highway to a nearby Wawa. The responding trooper searched the area and located the suspect with the unpaid merchandise behind a bush in the Wawa’s parking lot. When the officer approached the suspect to make contact, the suspect fled and ignored verbal commands to stop. After a brief foot chase, the suspect, identified as Lamir Harris, was taken into custody without incident. A search of her person led to the discovery of five glassine bags containing approximately 0.035 grams of heroin, and one Xanax pill. The officer returned to the Wawa parking lot and found clothing valued at more than $2,100 behind the bushes.

Harris was taken to Troop 2 where she was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on an $800 unsecured bond.
